Full Moon
Event.
Our Edinburgh festival takes place on the day of July’s full moon — reaching its fullest phase at 4:45PM BST.
Across many traditions, the full moon has symbolised reflection, completion and renewal. For us, it’s a wonderful moment to gather, share stories and celebrate the curiosity that brings our community together.
July’s full moon is often called the Buck Moon, a name associated with the season when male deer grow new antlers. That connection with growth and new beginnings feels fitting as our festival reaches a new city.
A remarkable venue, a summer gathering and a full moon on the very same day. Whether the moon carries personal meaning for you or you simply appreciate the night sky, there’s room for every perspective here.
These are cultural associations, not claims of proven paranormal effects. Moon visibility depends on the weather and local horizon. View the lunar calendar.
